General information about Samui
Koh Samui is the third largest of Thailand's islands. It sits in an archipelago of some 80 islands and is 25 km long and 21 km wide. It's located just off the East Coast of southern Thailand.
Samui International Airport is just over an hour from Bangkok!
Samui's long white beaches are lined with coconuts and emerald green seas. Until the first back-packers arrived around thirty years ago, life on Koh Samui revolved around either the island's abundant coconut plantations or fishing. Since then it has grown into a popular holiday destination.
For those looking to explore further afield, the island's lush tropical interior has plenty of attractions to explore. The two inland waterfalls at Na Muang and Hin Lad have crystal clear water and are perfect for a relaxing dip. There is also ancient Buddha images and traditional Thai temples to visit and of course Hin Ta Hin Yai (famous grandma & grandma rocks).
